If you are reading this post; than you probably purchased
a home in 2012 as your primary residence! And congratulations once again! However, Now you must file your Homestead Exemption to either lower your taxes or keep them at there current rate! I have links below for the homestead application as well as the homestead requirements… These are the same requirements for any county in Texas; In order to obtain the Homestead Exemption you must have the address on your drivers license match that of your homestead as well as the registration of your motor vehicles. As a convenance I have provided the links below to change both. If you have not already done so, that will be your first step in obtaining/preserving your homestead exemption. Once you have made both address changes as well as completed the Homestead Application you will need to bring/file them
with your counties appraisal district. Below are the addresses to Hardin,
