Looking for something to do in SETX? Think there isn’t anything to do? I know I use to say the same thing when I was growing up in SETX…. However, the truth is there is plenty to do but most people do not know of the activities going on in their own back yard! Case in point; The Lagniappe Film and Music Festival, Did you know there was a Film and Music Festival this weekend in Beaumont, TX? The four-day festival will allow attendees to participate in film screenings, master classes, and star-studded gala events. National as well as International films will be present; including two of my favorites WUSS ( Debuted at SXSW in 2011 ) as well as STRINGS ( Winner of Multiple Awards from several International Film Festivals ) Don’t forget about the music as well… To many artists to list but to name a few: Austin’s very own Mobley, Houston’s The Manichean, as well as We Are Wombat from SETX’s very own Nederland,TX. There is something for everyone with genres to include Indie Rock, Country Western, as well as Rock & R&B. Film screenings will be held at the historic Jefferson Theater in Downtown Beaumont, TX with the Musical performances being held on Crockett St. near by.
